The elements of a calm and restful space are often the same for each of us, a close connection to nature, through materials, patterns and colours. Mixing layers, contrasting textures and tones using sustainable fine linens and solid woods, each Samla Home artwork is framed and ready to hang in your home.
Wild treasures collected and gathered from country and coast
My approach is that each artwork should tell a story not simply fill a space. I take inspiration from the organic shapes and patterns of wild treasures, gathered from country to coast. Each with their own stories, collected in special moments of slow living and gathered purely for their beauty and character.
Often the moment is as special as the treasure. The excitement of sea-glass hunting on Bamburgh’s rugged coast, or along the crystal-clear waters in Cornwall. The thrill of finding an recently lost feather delicately resting in a field corner or amongst the brambles on our farm.

Inspired by sea glass gathered along the Northumberland coastline. Organic shapes with tumbled worn edges were the starting point for this series of sea glass studies. A warm palette of contrasting fabric weights and textures of fine linens with hand manipulated raw edges layered and handsewn onto a neutral laundered linen base.

Part of the Shoreline series inspired by organic shapes of sea glass gathered along the Northumberland coastline. Shapes duplicated and intertwined to evoke the feeling of the shoreline and its wash of treasures. A tonal palette of contrasting weights and textures, each manipulated and shaped by hand making each piece unique and giving a richly tactile raw edge finish. Layered and handsewn with a three dimensional quality onto a neutral linen base. Presented in a UK made, solid wood float frame finished in Edward Bulmer natural paint.

British textile studio creating contemporary, sustainable original artworks
Sustainability is the foundation of Samla Home and every detail has been considered with this in mind. Slow production, focused on quality and craftmanship, using a carefully curated selection of the finest 100% linen fabrics and organic cotton threads.
All paper and wood products are sourced from sustainably managed forests. Water based and plant based environmentally friendly paints are used to finish hand painted frames and packaging is sustainably made, recycled or re-usable.

About Jenny
Welcome to Samla Home, which began in 2025, but behind it lies nearly two decades of passion for textiles and much time collecting and gathering wild treasures. My artworks feel deeply personal in my inspiration, the colours I carefully curate and the detailed handcrafting of each piece with its own story.
My background in textiles goes back to my degree which led to many fulfilling years working in fashion retail as a product technologist for Marks and Spencer and John Lewis, focused on quality, functionality and sustainable sourcing. Naturally evolving into interiors when I stepped away from my career in London, with a spell training in interior design following our home renovation, I went on to design holiday homes and residential projects for clients including Dyson Farming.
Central to life is our 100-acre farm where we are fortunate to enjoy each day surrounded by nature and the joy each season brings. My role on the farm is focused on planting hedges and trees throughout the winter as we continually seek ways to diversify wildlife and link areas of habitat, that being our main ambition.
Creating contemporary, sustainable textile artworks with natural materials from my home studio on the farm, I find each area of life intertwines with my love of collecting, neutral soft palettes and rustic Scandinavian design. Half Swedish I appreciate the influences from Nordic design and exploring the feeling that creates in a home, as well as my daughters’ delicious cinnamon buns which she regularly bakes for us.
